Peg
Nelson Piano and Organ Studies Instructor
Peg Nelson has been among musicians since three weeks of age when she was first brought to a church choir practice. She began formal training on the piano at age 8. By the age of 16 she began her professional career as an organist and piano accompanist. She has taught music in her children's school as a volunteer and has lead music appreciation programs for adults. Peg has directed children's choirs, been the vocal coach and assistant director for the touring youth choir "Great Day" and has performed as a soloist and organist. She has earned the prestigious CAGO award, the second level of qualification as a member of the American Guild of Organists. Astoria has recently become home for Peg and her family. As a part of this community she looks forward to helping students increase their musical skill and enjoyment. Peg earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Sioux Falls College, South Dakota.
