Kristin grew up in Fairfax, VA, where her love of music began. She started singing in her church choir when she was 5, and, by the time she graduated from high school, was involved in her school choir and band, church choirs and handbell choirs and private piano and french horn lessons. She decided to pursue music further and graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with a BA in Organ Performance in 1996 and from Westminster Choir College with a MM in Sacred Music in 1998. For many years, Kristin served a Director of Worship Arts where she established comprehensive music programs that included adult and children’s choirs, handbell choirs, small ensembles, orchestras and contemporary worship bands.
In 2014, Kristin and her husband Kirk moved to Astoria to enjoy the coastal life. She was lucky enough to connect with the Astoria Conservatory soon after her arrival and has been teaching ever since!
